6 months! i'm definitely the ass-kicker now as the only contributer in so so long... well, here's my news, silent world: my career as an underling librarian concludes in a week and two days, on Sept. 13. i've loved my job, but--well, i have to confess, i feel like i should be making more money. 10.50/hr. isn't much for a fella with a Master's degree. but who cares?
so the news: i'm teaching as an adjunct at JCCC. two sections of Comp. I. and in another few weeks, i'll start a long-term substitute position at SM Northwest. a teacher is having a baby, and i consider myself lucky to get her classes for a couple months this semester. she teaches 12AP and 9Honors English. should be fun (except for the grading). we're reading Crime & Punishment in 12AP and then on to A Clockwork Orange. the Odyssey is in there somewhere and lots of other stuff. 9Honors is reading To Kill a Mockingbird (my favorite) and A Separate Peace, which has an impressive first few pages so far, as well as other cool stuff.
